About UsIn this world of assembly lines and automation, it's virtually impossible to find a furniture company that still believes in hand craftsmanship. Even rarer is the company that will customize a finish to your specifications. Yet, there are such companies, and happily Mayland Court is one of them.
To order one of our exceptional pieces, all you need do is select a design from our furniture collection and specify the finish you desire. Of course, it's just possible that while you like our finishes, you have something a little different in mind. Perhaps you'd like to match an antique chest…a wooden floor…a time-worn fireplace. In that case just send us a wood sample, and we'll replicate your finish down to the very last detail and nuance.
Our furniture pieces are the perfect canvas for our special finishes. The selections embrace an exceptionally wide range of classic, timeless styles: French armoires, Italian chests, European consoles; tables, desks, entertainment centers, beds; unique designs from different periods to enhance and accent any décor. Each one is carved to perfection and superbly executed in only the finest of cabinet woods: walnut, cherry, beech, alder, pine, among others. A small group of dedicated Mayland Court artisans create these incredible masterpieces. Their deft, sure hands work on each design; staining here, padding there; highlighting, distressing and custom decorating - making artistic judgments that only craftspeople with years of experience (475 collective years) can make. No fast assembly lines here. It takes time and talent to produce a rich, hand-rubbed patina; mellow, refined and inviting.
Mayland Court is nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina one mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway. It's a region famous for arts and crafts in many mediums; glass, pottery, painting, but above all, fine furniture making. This is the heritage our artisans bring to you; and a legacy to which our founder and furniture veteran, Don Warren and his son, Chris, totally ascribe. With Mayland Court you can take pride in knowing that you are not only getting a fine piece of furniture, but also that each design is original…personal…made by us, but created by you. |
